Description
The Mavic 3 Pro hovered effortlessly over the rugged Maine coastline, its lens trained on one of New England’s most iconic maritime sentinels—Whaleback Lighthouse. Just offshore from the mouth of the Piscataqua River, this granite tower stood firm on its rocky perch, framed perfectly by the unfolding drama of a scarlet sunrise. As the first light of day breached the Atlantic horizon, it painted the sky in fiery shades of crimson, amber, and gold, igniting the seascape with color.
Below, the lighthouse—stoic and weather-worn—glowed with the soft radiance of dawn. Built in the 19th century and often shrouded in fog or crashing surf, this morning it stood proud and clear, a monument to resilience. Waves whispered against the rocks beneath it, catching glints of sunlight like scattered jewels. The air was crisp, tinged with salt, and filled only with the rhythm of the ocean.
The drone began its descent, drawing closer to Whaleback’s stout granite tower. Every detail came into sharp relief—the rust-toned lantern room, the rough texture of the stone, the lone iron ladder clinging to the rocks below. It was a rare moment of tranquility for a lighthouse that has faced more than a century of storms.
Hovering gently, the camera swept around the tower, capturing the play of light across its surface as the sun climbed higher. For a few minutes, time seemed to pause—just the sea, the sky, and a steadfast beacon bathed in firelight.
Then, slowly, the drone ascended. As it pulled back, Whaleback Lighthouse receded into the vibrant morning canvas, still standing watch as it has for generations—alone but not forgotten
