Artist's Description
This shows the Baker Island Lighthouse and the Lighthouse Keepers house. Bakers Island is 5.2 miles from Salem's Derby wharf and there are only two ways to get out on the island. First is own a property there or to come out on the Naumkeg landing craft that is run by the Essex Heritage folks. They took ownership from the Goverment in 2014 who had been running it since 1798. There have been various numbers of lights on Bakers Island from two lights on the lighthouse keepers house to two towers. Today there is but one tower on the 10 acre park. This day didn't look good to start with dark clouds but as we got out there the clouds began to break up and look terrific above the lighthouse.
