Entering Groton State Forest either from the south or north you will take Route 232. The road up is a well maintained dirt road but beware if you are up there after dusk for that sunset shot you could end up staying the night as they lock the gates and are not going to wait for you to get that sunset shot... The classic view Kettle pond from Owls Head lookout is fairly easy to climb up to but just off the parking area is a short strait path that leads to a pavilion with a slightly lower vantage point but it still affords you a view of Kettle pond. I believe that with help a wheelchair could make that route as well.
