Artist's Description
A Maelstrom is a powerful whirlpool in the ocean or a river. Also a confused state or violent turmoil. This is made violent by virtue of having your camera on a tripod and as the river turns below you the camera slowly records the swirling eddys and autumn's colorful leaves that fall into the river from surrounding trees. Here a maple tree has deposited leaves on the shore creating a red carpet of new england fall foliage. Some of the more colorful leaves record as colorful streaks in the water as well as bubbles and flotsam of things that have fallen into the water. All weave a pattern that the camera catches and then creates a swirling maelstrom of color and textures.
