Artist's Description
Creative images of Rockport Massachusetts.
The view outside this fishing shanty is of Rockport Harbor and there you will find buoys hanging on a fishing nets, the sides of fishing shacks and entire gardens of buoys. Rockport Harbor in Massachusetts is both a scenic New England location and a working fishing village where lobstermen ply their trade on a daily basis. In storm in rough water buoys tend to break away from the traps that lie 30 to 90 feet below and get washed ashore. By law residents who find buoys are expected to hang the buoys where passing lobstermen may see their colors hanging and retrieve the buoys. From what can be seen around Rockport Harbor over the years many lobster buoys have been washed ashore and are hanging on walls all around the harbor.
