The Minutemen at Lexington by Jeff Folger. On Lexington Green is a statue of Lexington's Minuteman from the Revolutionary War. On April 19, 1775, the Minutemen first encountered the British here in Lexington but didn't have sufficient numbers to stop him it wasn't until the British sent a small force over the old North Bridge and Concord that the numbers of militia outweighed the numbers of British troops. Tensions were high and a warning shot by the British may have been the shot heard round the world when the Minutemen returned fire and the British fired back killing two Minutemen. The rest, as they say, is history.
