Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. The colors of autumn last for such a short period of time. They start in Sept and flow across the canopy of the forest like a wave of color in orange and reds and golds with many colorful hues inbetween. sometime the leaves fall into the brook under the trees to be carried downstream where they stop to rest against a rock as the water keeps pressure on them and finally they slip free of the rocky embrace and the fall colors continue to float down the river until they sink below the surface looking up at the sky from which just a short time before they were looking down on the stream so far below. Now they know what the cold embrace of the stream is like and they know they will continue to feed the earth until the next years crop of trees pulls the nutrients of this leaf and others up through the tree in the form of sap. It will become once again a part of the living landscape and the cycle of life will continue.
